A foot is a lot to deal with, Lesa.

The 50mph+ winds yesterday thru some of the area looks like it was too much for the power grid! Cat may be glad to be in Boston if she is still there this morning. Here is her local newspaper:

http://www.southcoasttoday.com

One of the stories had this to say, "In Mattapoisett, 99 percent of customers, or 3,767 homes, had no power."

Yikes! The snow is bad enough- but no power would be really bad! We plowed last night up until midnight- and then had another 4-5 inches to deal with this morning. Hoping everyone is warm and safe!

Um, Catjac is in the worst of it right now. Hope they're ok, trips to the hospital for that surgery and stuff, hospital probably on emergency power. Diesel fuel trucks prioritizing to hospitals...

well, snow stopped a few hours ago here near the NH coast. but the wind is still making it tough to move snow out of my driveway without getting it right back in the face. i have to take another venture out there and get the rest done. it was higher that my corgi's head who is about 14-15" tall at his shoulders (yes, he's much taller than he should be for the breed) he enjoyed the fluffy stuff though. chickens won't step a foot out in this stuff so they are trying to stay cozy in their 8'x16' 'luxury coop'!

my hubby is the lucky one while he's recovering from his stroke. he gets to stay in the warm cozy house while i've got to run out and shovel again. but at least he's recovering and back at home now. i'm thinking of having him help me start some seeds later tonight when i'm trying to get over my aches from moving all that fluffy white stuff.

Portland, ME now at 31.9" (all-time biggest snowstorm) according to the Weather Channel.

Wow! Chickie'sMom, I just went back and read your final post on the "negative to a positive" thread. I'd missed that before.

he's feeling much better after being in a rehab hospital for 16 days. he's been home now for just over a week. the therapists and nurses at the hospital put him through a lot to make sure he was back on his own 2 feet to walk out of there! i've been monitoring his blood sugar and meals. it seems to be helping him loose weight and bring down a lot of his numbers to a better level that his doctor was happy with. he just wasn't taking care of himself the way his doctor was telling him to. :/
