he only predicted it was going to come early. i don't think he guarantees his predictions that we won't get any white stuff in between! what amounted to almost 2 feet here has gradually shrunk down a few inches with the past 2 days of 40 degree weather here. here's hoping that next little air mass i see coming does not dump any more white stuff and just helps melt the remainder away.

You got a lot more than we did, Monty!

It was pretty coming down, but didn't stick because the ground was too warm.

ETA: I gotta say, I'm glad we had a real winter this year. Too warm and I start to get nervous about all the bad buggies that will be invading my garden. Not to mention the ticks and mosquitos that were so much worse because of last year.

Yeah, I shouldn't complain. Last year I lost all of the strawberries and apples to the early warmth and late frost (which wasn't really late but came after the trees decided to bloom early). It's all these little teasers we've been getting. One day of spring 4 days of winter, etc...It's almost over though.

I came back to look at the map in the first post -- some of you aren't having such a pleasant weekend :/.

Saturday's weather surprised me! Yes, I still had that asphalt roofing in the utility room staying warm & flexible. (You know, asphalt doesn't smell all that great in the house :(.) Anyway, I got it outside and on the shed roof!

Today is a bit windy and there's an 80% of snow tonight, 100% tomorrow but it will easily warm up enuf to melt the snow.

Soon, I may be able to be over in the neighbor's yard with the skill saw and hammer . And, if next week is just a little warmer - I'm expecting to see the rhubarb begin lifting itself up from its winter hibernation ;).

Ours today is sort of exciting...we got about 3 inches of snow overnight and it's still falling. We desperately need the moisture, but I can't help but think that having about another 20 degrees and a nice, steady drizzle for about 3 days would be a MUCH more efficient way to get it!
