Something else that factored in was the 35mph winds while it was snowing that day. Almost blew it into drifts in a residential area!

Of course that wind not only took snow off rooftops and tree branches but also off the ground on the windy side of buildings.

Today: A little more snow on streets than I expected. Now how am I gonna drive outta this sloping parking lot and turn to drive up a steep hill?!!

Ah, Winter … and Steve

very carefully, but often if it looks that bad i'd go the other way and find a different route (if i could).

That's what I did.

It was probably not a block further, not nearly as interesting for the short way I needed to drive but I could get a run at that hill on a better maintained street. Besides, there is a deli right at the bottom on that street and if I spun out, I could hang out there until the tow truck arrived ;).

looks like most of the snow is done for now. i'll enjoy my morning and work on the taxes and then head out later to shovel. :) it looks so much nicer out there now with a nice blanket of snow. about 4-5 inches of fluffy white. if the sun came out it would be all sparkles. :)

We didn't get the 5 inches predicted several days ago. It was closer to 2 1/2 inches of snow, but there was an hour or so of freezing rain, THEN snow on top, so I could walk on it.
DH is wearing his snow boots with a great tread to morning court so he won't slip. They also get his feet toasty, and cold feet have been an issue for awhile now, so also good.
Should be melting bit by bit over the next week, then back to nasty mud!

It's Raining. When I looked at the wunderground radar/temp map sometime before dawn, I thought that there was something wrong with it - entirely green!

Looked next at the WS radar map and there was this great big "green" rainstorm right over the top of me! ... More rain on the way up the Columbia .

This may mean the end of the snow in my yard. (I hope it is snowing at much higher elevations or, at least, not much snow-melting rain ;).) December 16 snow gone by 1 March. Not much unusual about all that but there are puddles on my lawn - On this Rocky Ground!?

Just read this warning from my app, now I have to cover some seedlings with fleece. The ones in the greenhouse also need to retreat to the second living room.

it was cold here last night but today will be up to about freezing. no rain or snow in the forecast. i did see that blob of green over your way when i checked the radar this morning. snow always good for the mountain snow pack out there. Colorado got a nice bump up from the recent storms but they can certainly use more.

today i know spring is coming because i can hear the Cardinals calling loud enough through the sides of the house/patio door. :)
