We had this fine rain then heavier rain all day here plus it's cold

How I wish the rain man up on the the clouds would fall off for awhile

We ended up getting a total of about 5 inches last week. There were a couple days of minor flooding and one of the bridges near the house will be closed for until at least Wednesday. It’s sunny and about 60f today though. No ideA if the potatoes and onions will survive all the rain though.

Knowing that today would be heavy rain, we tented the newly planted peas with plastic to divert the rain away from their elevated bed and into the walkways. They are in there nice and snug, well above the moisture! Whew. I'd hate for them to rot.

Yes, those already in the raised beds are the best frost-hardy ones, just a bit shock to see -9 degrees C. However, it didn't happen, or it happened somewhere else in the region.

Some took cover in the small hut for tools.

Some got blankets.

And some went inside for a night of better sleep.

I think that I may be able to leave the life preservers and pool noodles on the shelf for now .

There was nearly 3/4" of an inch of rain that fell. Added to February total, it only added to enuf to about double that.

Checked the nearest Snotel on Quartz Peak and it looks okay. The rain up there looks to be settling into and adding to the snow cover - so far. The day at nearly 1 mile up did start out well above freezing. Mountain Passes look okay, altho there was discussion yesterday on avalanche concerns on one over the Cascades.

tried to punch some holes in the "hell strip" with an iron bar. couldn't get very deep. trying to drain the puddles on the sidewalk through that frozen ground. might have helped, no puddle this morning

it was warm enough here this afternoon that i risked a short walk up and down the road. it was a bit colder than i expected so i turned around a little bit before i'd hoped but it was ok. i'd not been out for a walk in a long time.

Today I can feel spring in the air! It felt around 50 degrees! There was a light sea breeze all day and the clouds were extra pretty (mashed potato clouds with super blue sky in the background). I heard some birds singing in a tree on my walk this afternoon!
