Flowerbug, I have read that worms do not like it if you put hot spicy pepper scraps in the compost bin. In your opinion is there any truth to that?

i've never done any kind of study of that issue - i've only seen some vague references to worms and the super hot peppers, but i've not looked at them to go deeper. it's very easy to get distracted by watching videos of people eating hot peppers and talking about pepper sauces... :)

here i am nibbling on one very tiny pepper that @digitS' sent me to try out and to grow them. i'm talking about a few mm square at time that i nibble. it will take me a few weeks to eat this one, methinks... :) the flavor is exactly the chili pepper flavor i like so i'm enjoying it - just very moderately at the moment...

The coffee is FRESH, HOT and READY plus there's tea bags and hot cocoa packets so pour a cup or glass of Iced Coffee, sip and enjoy the day breaking.

Cornmeal mush sounds good. I make hot water cornbread, which is cornmeal, boiling water, make Pattie’s and fry them. Those are the plain basic, but I add jalapeños, onion and a little salt.

My Mom made grits, put leftovers in a loaf pan, sliced and fried the next morning. Once. The grease popped so bad, she never did that again.

Thanks for the coffee @Country Homesteader
It’s good this morning!

Thursday night we got 4 1/2” of rain. Had to be in Tyler at 8:00 Friday morning for yearly check up on my knee. It is perfect. At 10:30 had appointment with endocrinologist for bone scan results. I had osteoporosis in both femurs, hips and osteopenia in my spine. Doctor found it when he did my knee replacement last year. When I went for my 6 week checkup, he sent me for a bone scan immediately that same day.

Endocrinologist wanted to put me on pharmaceutical drugs and I refused. I didn’t want the side effects. A friend of mine had been diagnosed with osteoporosis and her chiropractor and nutritionist put her on Algecal and Strontium, natural supplements with no side effects. So I took that. Endocrinologist was skeptical. My appointment Friday, bone scan results showed improvement. Out of the 5 measurements, 4 have improved to osteopenia. I am very happy about that. I go back next year for bone scan and results.

There's fresh, hot and ready coffee in the pot for Y'all early birds like me. Here in a few while I'm energized I have to start the typical Monday day stuff except I have to add in carving 2 pumpkins too!
FH and I hung some more Halloween decorations yesterday so here's the pics: 1st pic is an orange and purple light SPIDER WEB, 2nd pic is the SPIDER on the web, 3rd pic is a GHOST windsock which we hung under the outdoor light. Yes, we are already talking about how to improve the display next year! In a couple weeks I'll probably be posting pics of our Christmas deco seeing how it's going to take us a couple weekends (unless we get help of course) to decorate because we have A LOT of Christmas. FH also told me that he got me a 9 foot Christmas ARCHWAY!!!

Thanks for the coffee! Love the Halloween decorations!
Cold, windy and rainy here. Not motivated. Outside chores are calling, but I sent them to voice mail. Just finished second cup of coffee, so guess I’d better drag out Carhart insulated overalls and ugly hoodie and go outside. I need new rubber boots, got a hole in one. Or maybe I can find that flex tape…..

That flex seal tape is some wicked stuff. I firmly believe if the Cop’s carried a roll in they’re cruiser and asked the “perp” to “peal me off a piece buddy” they wouldn't need handcuffs. I carry a roll in canoes sometimes for “field repairs” knowing full well how difficult it is to work with and fear of having to use it has kept me off the rocks!

Do you feel all the love @Phaedra ? You are such a special lady, everyone is concerned about you. Having any tooth pulled is no fun, wisdom tooth is no fun either. Take good care of yourself, hope you heal up soon.
Yes, I feel all the love :love :love :love

Today, my cheek is no longer swollen, no bleeding, and just a little pain (or uncomfortable feeling) left. Tomorrow will be a better day, I believe.

I didn't have coffee yet, as the caffeine might cause troubles for the healing. So, I will 'officially' have it tomorrow morning, can't wait.

To ensure I will have a wonderful morning coffee time tomorrow, I made some small cakes with a fancy topping - sea salt caramel and dark chocolate sauce, with roasted pecans.
