Only 3 more weeks ... that was 20 days ago.

So, So Lucky -- did you give the boot, the boot??

Are you back in Tai-chi as a regular thing? How you feeling?

Well, the doc decided to leave me in the boot for another week yet, so it will be at 6 weeks that I give it the boot. I think I was feeling better a couple weeks ago. At least mentally.
Managing the extra weight on one side, not being able to bend the ankle, and having to curtail my normal activity has finally caught up with me. Sciatica is flaring, energy and enthusiasm at an all time low, boredom, not being able to get comfortable. Tai-Chi was causing me too much balance problem, so I decided to just try it at home, with a chair/couch for balance.
The foot itself is not causing much problem; I was even able to slip it into an old stretched out soft shoe yesterday, and I hobbled around briefly on the side of my foot and heel. But that soon caused Achilles pain, so....back to the boot.
To add icing to the pity party cake, DH has been feeling so good, he is gone most of the time, and when he settles in for the evening he promptly falls asleep in front of the TV.
We are due to go to lunch with some friends (his friends, but I am adaptable) today, so at least I will get aired out.
I am making a real effort to try to get some energy back, even started taking sam-E again, in addition to trying to eat better. And, I have decided it is better to take a tramadol every other day, so I can at least be tolerable to be around half the time.

See what a Pandora's box you opened by asking after me, Steve? But thanks for your concern. I do think I will be glad I had this surgery eventually, but probably not for at least 3 more months.

It's sunny and warm out today. I sure would like to take a walk! Or get out in the garden.

OK, I'm done grumbling for now. I feel better.

I thought the same thing! If you can't walk in the sun at least you can sit in it. Get some vitamin D while you're at it too!

LOL, not me Mary, somehow I posted in the wrong thread it should been in the Something in the air thread. I deleted it and put it where I meant to post it, Granny needs new glasses .
