My goodness so lucky. I'm sorry you had to go through so much pain with the removal of your stitches. I think I would have screamed at the first one and told the doctor he HAD to come up with a different way or medication in order to remove the rest! Surely they could have done something?

Glad you're back to soaking and your baths. Hope you move forward in your healing process.

Yeah, Steve, if you haven't tried Arnica on your sore parts, you might want to try it. It is from a plant, Arnica Montana.
Lots of people swear by Bio Freeze, too.
I even have some of that DMSO, that people were carrying on about a few years ago. It's a solvent, I think. It has been used on race horses. Holy Cow, that stuff stinks and makes your breath stink horribly if you rub it on your skin. You know it's getting absorbed into your system. Scary. You have to be desperate to use it.

We rubbed greyhounds down with DMSO. A friend of mine used bare hands rubbing the dogs while I held them and she ended up in the emergency room. It absorbed into her system through her hands. she was sick and did something to her liver. She got over it. I had it used on my back fro sciatica years ago. It goes in your system. I can remember the taste and smell.

when i was at the equine clinic i remember having to bottle that stuff up one day the lady in charge of me highly cautioned me about the DMSO & not getting it on my skin or immediately washing it off. i asked her what the stuff was used for & she mentioned that it was used a lot on the horses but mostly older people would buy it for sore muscles directly from them.

i had heard of Boi-Freeze a few years ago when my FIL was in the hospital for the broken/fractured vertebra in the back of his neck. the ICU nurses gave him the container to help make him comfortable till they could get him into an MRI to find the issue. the stuff worked better than the morphine they kept trying to inject in him that he was allergic to.

Not many days left in this week ...

So, @so lucky ,

what can you say about your healing process?

You can grumble, grumble if'n you'd like. I was just complaining how I almost couldn't make it to the corner newspaper stand because of sore feet, and that was 30 years ago!

Haha, Mary. I know people who are still complaining about how rotten their childhood was, so I guess anything is fair game.

I got disconnected from TEG and couldn't find the sheet that had all my passwords on it, so was effectively muffled for a few days. But here I am. Again.
The foot is .....meh.....wearing the boot is a real pain, but the foot itself isn't hurting much. Swelling hasn't been much of a problem after the first few days, but my foot/leg does hurt more if I can't put it up frequently. The calf muscle, never very large, has dwindled down to looking like a deflated party balloon. I'm going to be challenged to find exercises to do that doesn't require the ability to stand on tiptoe. (Which I won't be capable of doing from now on)
My energy level and endurance is very low. I know that just being up moving around will help that. I think I will attempt to go back to my Tai-chi class today. Several of the moves I can do while sitting, or not moving much. Besides the exercise, I need the camaraderie of the class.
I feel so fortunate that I have been in a position to do this without having to go back to work, and without a couple little kids to take care of, and that I have a DH who is making sure I have what I need. I did bake him some of his favorite cookies yesterday (very slowly).
Only 3 more weeks of this boot. :\

so lucky, it sounds like things are going pretty good for you considering all things. You've found your passwords, your foot doesn't hurt much, no swelling, you're motivated to go back to Tai-chi, and you baked cookies! Yay!!!! :celebrate
