We will be 90 today. I am starting to see mosquitoes in the garden in the evening. I am not sure my body is going to hold up to playing pickleball as much as my friend is playing. I played some Tuesday and I beat her in one game, but one leg feels kind of strained, so I did not go today. Yes, whiffleball is getting popular. You have to get up early and know where the courts are and try to get there before all taken.Bitten by the bug, @Gardening with Rabbits ? Mosquito bites are no fun but I'm beginning to catch a whiff that the wiffleball has gained a new life in the 21st century. A high school friend lived on a par 5 golf course which immediately appealed to this farm kid for some baseball in his yard. "No, we can't go out there." Relegated to batting the wiffleball around. Sheesh
Half the Year has gone by! Full Moon yesterday -- well, I've come up with a gardening idea that growing both Tiara and Charmant cabbage may have been a mistake. The carport fridge is crammed because they both produce on about the same schedule!
Our green beans had terrible germination. I think that this was from 2017 seed. I don't remember this happening before. Two sowing, ordered and received fresh seed and still have time . Rattlesnake pole beans from saved seed are doing fine.
The Weather Service says our above-90 days will be back by Thursday. I was appreciating the low-80's.

I know the ones around me take local produce. When I can get my hands on fresh produce especially summer squash and zucchini I wash it off really good then slice into rounds parboil it then freeze it so during the winter months when it's hard to get and also VERY EXPENSIVE I already have some in the freezer plus I also shred zucchini so I can make zucchini bread .I am thinking of calling the food bank and see if they take fresh produce.
My freezer is full almost and I was sick last summer and winter, so I did not use up things like I usually would have done. I steamed some blackberries and I told DS that if we each drink 8 oz twice a day that I can take sacks of blackberries out of the freezer every 2 days or so. He does not have a happy face, but he is willing to help me. LOL The food bank is closed until Monday, so I have not talked to them, but it sure would be nice to have a plan to pick things when there is too much and then drop it off that morning while fresh.Good Morning everyone!!! Happy FRIDAY!!!! 1/2 pot of go go juice is hot and ready for y'all
